Local Air Conditioning Engineers for the North East
We are based in Newcastle upon Tyne and install, service and repair air conditioning across Tyne and Wear, south-east Northumberland and northern County Durham. Working locally means shorter travel times for surveys and servicing, and a good understanding of the buildings we work on, from Tyneside flats and coastal terraces to stone farmhouses and modern business parks.
Below, you will find the main towns we cover and the local factors that can affect an installation in each area.
Newcastle upon Tyne
City centre offices, shops and the Quayside
Many city-centre businesses occupy older buildings with limited roof and wall space for outdoor plant. Multi-split and VRF systems are often the best fit because several rooms share one outdoor unit. Out-of-hours installation helps shops, bars and restaurants keep trading. Our commercial air conditioning guide explains the options.
Jesmond, Gosforth and Heaton homes
Victorian and Edwardian terraces and Tyneside flats are common here. Rear walls and back yards usually offer the best outdoor unit positions. Parts of Jesmond and Gosforth fall within conservation areas, so we check whether the planned position is visible from the street before work begins. Our home air conditioning guide covers placement in more detail.
Gateshead, Sunderland and Washington
South of the river, a large share of our work is commercial and industrial. Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead and the industrial estates around Washington and Sunderland have warehouses, workshops and trade counters that need cooling for staff, stock and equipment. These sites often benefit from zoned systems and planned maintenance, described on our industrial air conditioning page.
In residential areas such as Low Fell, Whickham and the newer estates around Sunderland and Washington, modern cavity-wall homes make for straightforward installations, often completed in a day.

North and South Tyneside Coast
Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, North Shields and South Shields are popular for home installations, especially in loft conversions and sea-view rooms that catch the afternoon sun. Salt in the air is the main local consideration. It can corrode the fins of an outdoor unit, so we recommend models with a protective coil coating and choose sheltered positions where possible. Tynemouth Village is a conservation area, so outdoor units are best kept to the rear of properties.

Northumberland
Cramlington, Blyth and Ashington
Cramlington’s industrial estates are home to manufacturing and pharmaceutical businesses where temperature control matters for both people and processes. In Blyth and Ashington, much of our work is in homes and small businesses.
Morpeth, Ponteland and Hexham
Stone-built properties are common in these market towns and the surrounding villages. Thick stone walls need the right drilling equipment and careful sealing around pipework, and some older buildings are listed, which may require consent before outdoor units are fitted. Rural properties can also have longer cable and pipe runs, which we price into the quote at the outset. Our guide to positioning indoor and outdoor units covers the options for older homes.

County Durham
Durham city centre sits within a conservation area around the Cathedral and Castle World Heritage Site, so outdoor units on historic buildings need careful siting and, in some cases, consent. Elsewhere in the county, in Chester-le-Street, Stanley and Consett, most of our work is in family homes and local businesses. Consett is one of the higher towns in the region and has cooler weather, which makes the heating function of a modern system especially useful. Seaham, on the coast, has the same salt-air considerations as the Tyneside coast.

Not Listed? We Probably Still Cover You
If your street, village or postcode is not in the tables, please still get in touch. We regularly work in the smaller communities between the towns listed, such as Seaton Delaval, Bedlington Station, Birtley, Sacriston and the villages along the Tyne Valley. Add your postcode to the quote form and we will confirm straight away.
For larger commercial and industrial projects, we also work outside the North East. Tell us where the site is and what you need, and we will confirm whether we can help and include any travel in a fixed quote. You can find out more about our team or browse all of our services.
